"Painting My Own Reality" is a fine art piece that explores the life of Frida Kahlo. With hand-dyed cotton and silk, this collaged portrait illustrates the depths of Kahlo's work and life. As an artist, I have always connected with Kahlo who constantly questions her identity through her paintings. Despite great suffering, her work spoke of authenticity and beauty. In this piece, I encouraged myself to see my reflection in Kahlo to heal pains from my past.
